LEON COUNTY, Fla. — A 15-year-old has been arrested after making a threat against Leon High School.

On Wednesday, The Florida Department of Law Enforcement received information about possible threats against Leon High School. FDLE then contacted the Leon County Sheriff's Office regarding their on-going investigation into a threat made against the school on Friday.

Wednesday's threat was communicated via text message to several students in the school, stating the suspect was "part of the school shooting."

LCSO and FDLE worked together to identify the 15-year-old suspect who sent the text message.

As a result of the investigation, the Leon High School student was arrested and charged with written threats to do harm. The investigation also determined that there is no indication the student actually made plans to carry out the threat.

LCSO would like to remind all students and citizens that any threat made against schools will be taken seriously and individuals making threats will face criminal charges.
