TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — The Tallahassee Police Department is investigating after a deadly pedestrian crash on North Monroe Street Sunday morning.
Around 11 a.m., TPD officers responded to a vehicle crash in the 2700 block of North Monroe Street near Sharer Road.
An initial investigation revealed a car was going northbound on North Monroe Street when it left the road, hitting a person who was on the side of the road.
Officers on scene tried to save the victim but the pedestrian, who has not been identified, later died at a local hospital.
Traffic Homicide Investigators have been called out to investigate.
TPD is asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash, but did not speak with an officer on scene, or anyone with information about the accident to please call 850-891-4200and ask to speak with the Traffic Homicide Unit. They may also remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 850-574-TIPS.
