TALLAHASSEE, FL. (WTXL) - A local man pushed himself to the limit in Tuesday night’s episode of ABC’s Extreme Weight Loss.
Contestants for the show try to lose at least half of their body weight. Tuesday night’s star of the show was 50 year old Rod Durham. Rod is a high school drama coach with Broadway dreams. Rod who recently came out as a homosexual has always struggled with his weight. With hopes to change his life, he joined the show for support. His journey began at 448 pounds. With cameras rolling ABC followed him through his year long journey trying to make his dreams become reality.
After losing 188 pounds Rod feels anything is possible, “You’re never to old to follow your dreams and make a change for you. Live for you, follow your heart and never give up.”
Rod continues his workouts at Sweat Therapy but says, his biggest challenge moving forward is his battle with food and eating the things he knows he should.
