Local law enforcement remember fallen officers with 'Unity Tour'

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- Members of Tallahassee area law enforcement agencies will be making their way this week to the nation's capital to help remember officers killed in the line of duty.

Tallahassee Police Officer David Northway will be leading a large group of law enforcement bicyclists as they bike their way to Washington, D.C. They will be joined by thousands of other law enforcement bicyclists, all taking part in the annual Police Unity Tour.

The primary purpose of the event is to raise awareness of Law Enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty, and to raise funds for the National Law Enforcement Officer's Memorial and Museum.

Thousands of bicyclists, law enforcement officers, and family members of fallen officers will be on hand in Washington, D.C. Many traveling from across the United States, Alaska, Hawaii, and some foreign nations.
