DUI Checkpoint
Posted

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Multiple law enforcement agencies will be checking for safety violations and  impaired drivers during a checkpoint at the 2500 block of West Tennessee Street.

Tallahassee Police Department along with the Leon County Multi-Agency DUI Strike Force (LCSO, FSU PD, FAMU PD, FHP, and FDLE/Capitol Police) will be at the area from 10:30 p.m. until 1:00 a.m.

The checkpoint is used for the purpose of detecting drivers who are too impaired to operate a motor vehicle, vehicles with faulty equipment, and those drivers operating a vehicle without a valid license.

This checkpoint will be well marked by signs, marked patrol vehicles, and uniformed officers. It is designed to have a minimal impact on traffic flow.

Officers ask motorists across the area to plan a safe ride home before drinking, and to never ride with someone who is impaired.
