TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - If you're in the Big Bend area, you may have woken up in the middle of the night to rain hitting your roof.

One local farm said that they have been waiting for the rain for a long time.

Orchard Pond Organics is located in the Red Hills region of the Capital City.

They have noticed the dryness and started building the harvest this August but haven't seen any rain until over night.

Currently they have systems in place to give plants the water they need, but added that every little bit of rain helps.

"I love it when it rains, so it's really gonna help our garden grow as well as it should. Especially with this warm temperature as it is. We don't have to use season extenders because it's not cold. Well have some really good crops if we can get some rain," said Jeremy Greer, a lead farmer with Orchard Pond Organics.

They are hoping the rain will help them in their fruit and vegetable production in order to grow their company as well.
