Local family displaced after live Christmas tree catches fire

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - A local family has been displaced in Jefferson County after their live Christmas tree caught on fire.  

According to Jefferson County Fire Rescue, a local family was displaced when their live Christmas tree caught fire Friday evening. 

JCFR said the family escaped the home and firefighters quickly extinguished the fire when they arrived on scene. 

They said there was still a great deal of damage, but closed doors kept rooms protected, and smoke alarms signaled the danger.  

Lloyd VFD, Wacissa VFD, and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office assisted JCFR on scene.
