TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Lake Talquin Baptist Church has been helping their community by feeding people who still don't have power.

Lunch on Monday was pork sandwiches, chips, and apple sauce. The church started feeding people at lunch on Sunday.

Some residents say it's a welcome relief, which they haven't had much of.

"The only relief we had was going down the road here to one of the centers down here. They had water which was fortunate, the problem was we didn't have communication," said Bill Meredith, a local resident. "Telephones stuff was out and of course the cell phones were out, the biggest part of our problem was communication."

The church says it will feed anyone who shows up. Monday's dinner started at five. They're serving chicken and vegetables.

They say lunch Tuesday will be the last meal they serve if power is restored.
