Local Charity Receives Check from Local Middle School

TALLAHASSEE, FL. (WTXL) - Big Brothers Big Sisters received a check from a local Middle School.

Tuesday the Cobb Middle School Student Government Association handed over a check for $650.

The SGA recently held a fundraiser at the school and decided to donate the money raised to a local charity. The students voted to donate to Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Big Brothers Big Sisters mission is to provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported 1‐to‐1 relationships that change their lives for the better, forever. Big Brothers Big Sisters provides successful mentoring relationships to all children who need and want them contributing to better schools, brighter futures, and stronger, healthier communities throughout the Big Bend.

Big Brothers Big Sisters' target population is youth, ages 6-18, in the Big Bend. The organization partners with parents/guardians, volunteers and others in the community and holds itself accountable for each child, in their program, achieving:

• Higher aspirations, greater confidence, and better relationships

• Avoidance of risky behaviors

• Educational success.
