LEON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - Recently, we've told you about challenges for school districts in Gadsden and Jefferson counties.
Several parents in those counties have been sending their children to Leon County for their education.
A company called "School District Services" has been transporting students to Leon County since 2001.
Currently, it serves around 200 students every day in Gadsden, Wakulla and Jefferson counties and has a dozen bus routes.
The buses pick up students and take them to a hub at Governor's Square Mall, where they are taken to Leon County Schools from elementary to high school.
The company says students spend considerable time commuting from home to school.
The executive director said some are on the bus for about two hours but the average trip for students is 30 to 45 minutes.
