TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - An attorney in Leon County announced he is running for the Leon County Commission District 3 seat on Sunday.
Carlos Rey, 39, says he is running to strengthen public trust in local government, ensuring public safety, and spurring economic opportunity.
“I am running to ensure that our government policies and programs are driven by the evidence and not the politics of the day,” Rey said. “If elected, I will focus on ensuring county government operates under the principles of accountability and transparency in order to maintain public trust.”
Rey has been actively involved in Leon County. He served on the Tallahassee Municipal Code Enforcement Board, serving two terms as Chairperson, he was a Code Magistrate, and is currently serving on the Leon County Board of Adjustment and Appeals.
