TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Local artists put on a benefit concert at The Moon hoping to raise enough money to put finishing touches on the Bradfordville Blues Club.

A 250 year old Oak tree came crashing through the roof during Subtropical Storm Alberto, putting the club out of business.

That's why local musicians are stepping up and trying to raise the rest of the money needed.

The club is designated as a historical landmark by the Blues Society and locals say there's a lot of history in the club.

Blues artists from across the country have been stopping in the Big Bend area for decades just to play at the BBC.

One local musician, Brett Wellman of the Stone Cold Blues Band, even got married at the club a few months before it was damaged.

"For Blues musicians, it's like sacred ground. I'll never forget the first time I made a play there. It was amazing to walk in there holding a guitar," said Wellman. "We've been lucky enough to perform there half a dozen times now and every time is just as special. It's just an incredible place."

Wellman says, the community response has been incredible in helping fix the club.
