LIVE OAK, Fla. (WTXL)--A Live Oak man remains in jail accused of murdering his mother.

Suwannee County deputies say Kenneth Glenn Hooker stabbed his mother Rose Lawson in the chest with a knife on Monday. They say Hooker didn't call 9-1-1 for medical help. Hooker reportedly told deputies they had been fighting and the reason he stabbed his mother was because he just wanted her to listen to him. Hooker is in the Suwannee County Jail charged with second degree murder.
