LIVE OAK, FLA. (WTXL) - Management is changing at the Econo Lodge in Live Oak after a racially charged incident in April.

Dean Papapetrou has taken over as the interim General Manager while the company continues looking for a permanent replacement.

Papapetrou previously worked as the General Manager of the Econo Lodge in Tallahassee and came out of retirement to manage the Live Oak location.

In a statement to WTXL, Papapetrou hopes to make sure that the Lice Oak location can, "serve every guest in every way we can" until new management is found.

The hotel was in the news in April after students from Flint, Michigan claimed that the hotel workers used racial slurs against them while they were staying there.
