TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Little athletes laced up their cleats today for some flag football.
Destiny Center Tallahassee kicked off another season of NFL flag football today with a community barbecue. The program serves young elementary and middle school athletes and teaches them the basics of football.
The program teaches students values like teamwork, perseverance and respect.
Something that local organizers say the children will be able to benefit most from. Now local grill master Charles Hayes smoked up the place with his famous chicken and rib dinners. Plates went for a bucks a pop and everything goes back to the NFL flag football program's end of the year banquet.
