(WTXL) - Inclement weather brought on by Alberto is causing delays and road closures in our coverage area:
WAKULLA COUNTY:
The Florida Highway Patrol is reporting water at the intersection of Port Leon Drive and Riverside Drive in St. Marks. Travelers are asked to avoid the area.
WTXL reporter Ashley Richmond is in Wakulla County now and says the following areas are flooded:
- Chickasaw Street to Mississippi
- Bottoms Road (marsh line to the end)
- Spring Creek Camp Ground
- Up to 1188 Wakulla Beach Road
- Mashes Sands Road (receding)
There is also a downed tree and power line at 3755 Bloxham Cutoff Road as well as a line down in Wakulla Springs at Bloxham Cutoff.
FRANKLIN COUNTY:
Among the numerous STORM REPORTS of tropical storm force winds and gusts, STORM SURGE reports have come in along Franklin county. As of 2:15 p.m., the St. George Island bridge has been reopened. It was closed due to winds over 45 mph. The Apalachicola bridge was also closed earlier but has since reopened.
The Franklin County Sheriff's Office is asking for travelers to continue taking caution while driving. They say to drive slowly and watch for birds, as pelicans are having a hard time flying in this weather.
LEON COUNTY:
The Florida Highway Patrol is reporting debris in Tallahassee and is urging drivers to use caution while traveling in the following areas:
- Downed tree reported on I-10 WB near mile marker 200 (just after Monroe Street exit)
- Unspecified debris reported on Blountstown Highway near Coe Landing Road.
