TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Next week, Leon County authorities will close a number of roads due to the Governor's inauguration.
On Tuesday, Ron DeSantis will be sworn in as Florida's 46th Governor on the steps of the Historic Capitol Building.
During the Inaugural events on Monday and Tuesday, the Tallahassee Police Department will be providing traffic control for activities throughout the day.
On Friday, TPD listed the following areas to have road closures during the Governor’s Inaugural events:
Friday, Jan. 4
2 p.m. – 10 p.m.
•One southbound lane of Monroe Street will be closed from Jefferson Street to Madison Street.
Monday, Jan. 7
12 p.m. – 4 p.m.
•Traffic on the following roads will be restricted to residents only in the Los Robles neighborhood: Fernando Drive, Cortez Street, Isabell Court and Desoto Street.
Tuesday, Jan. 8
6:15 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.
•Wahnish Way will be closed from Bob Hayes Way to Osceola Street.
•Okaloosa Street will be closed from Perry Street to Wahnish Way.
6:30 a.m. – 8 a.m.
•One southbound lane of Monroe Street will be closed from Jefferson Street to Madison Street.
8 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
•Monroe Street will be closed from Gaines Street to College Avenue.
•Apalachee Parkway will be closed from Franklin Boulevard to Monroe Street.
•Jefferson Street will be closed from Adams Street to Monroe Street.
•One lane of Madison Street will be closed from Bronough Street to Monroe Street.
•One lane of Duval Street will be closed from Madison Street to College Avenue.
4 p.m. – 11 p.m.
•Madison Street will be closed from Railroad Avenue to Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
•Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard will be closed from Gaines Street to Jefferson Street.
