TALLAHASSEE, FL.(WTXL)--Local LGBT Fraternity is giving back to the community to build a Habitat for Humanity House.
Omicron Psi Omega worked with the Ladies of Eastern Star to build the house on Wainwright Street Saturday.
The fraternity was founded in Tallahassee and is one of the very few LGBT fraternities.
Turrele Farmer the Volunteer Coordinator for the event said " things like this along with other community service is important because we feel like as a org. to give back to the community especially the community we grew up in"
Recently, the Fraternity came under scrutiny for mimicking traditional black greek organizations, but today the woman said their message was about service.
