TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The upcoming Leon Works Expo seeks to connect employers and workers for skilled jobs.
The expo will be held Friday, October 20, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the FSU Donald L. Tucker Civic Center, 505 West Pensacola St.
In the morning, Leon County Government and community partners will prepare more than 500 high school students to engage with employers and academic institutions.
In the afternoon, the expo will be open to everyone in the community interested in a career change or in developing new skills in the areas of health, business, information technology, creative and trade.
To help job seekers, Leon County government and community partners will offer these free services in the afternoon:
- Connecting with employers seeking workers for skilled jobs
- Networking with peers and professors on new opportunities
- Academic institutions offering education and career path training
- Professional headshots for social media accounts and personal branding
- Mock interview training and resume review with industry experts
