TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- Thursday morning three Leon County Schools were placed on lockdown due to law enforcement activity in the area.
Lincoln High school, Apalachee Elementary School, and the Adult Community Education Center were placed on lockdown as a precautionary measure, said the district.
The schools went on lockdown from about 8:30 a.m. to around 10 a.m., according to Leon County Schools.
Deputies were told by witnesses that two men were firing gunshots into a dilapidated building in the woods located near the schools. A canine unit was dispatched, but suspects were not located and no evidence of gunfire was found. The suspects are two men, no other description available.
