TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - A 14-year-old Leon High School student was arrested for having a firearm at school, according to deputies.
The Leon County Sheriff's Office says the student was taken into custody with a firearm Monday morning around 9:45 a.m.
Deputies say they found the gun in the student's backpack.
The student was caught about 15 minutes before the school was evacuated for a fire in a storage room on the third floor of the main campus, says department officials.
The investigation by the Sheriff's Office is still ongoing.
