LEON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - Leon County will waive building permit fees for storm-related repairs to help rebuild after Hurricane Michael.
To help the community rebuild after Hurricane Michael, Leon County will waive building permit fees for storm-related repairs. Residents and contractors may begin storm related repairs immediately and apply for the necessary permits afterwards and removal of storm-damaged trees.
To be eligible for the waiver, the person performing the work must be the homeowner or a licensed contractor.
Leon County said as a reminder, you should always make sure that your contractor is licensed by the State of Florida.
A list of licensed contractors can be found at www.myfloridalicense.com/dbpr/ or by calling the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation at (850) 487-1395 once state offices reopen Monday.
