TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - Leon County Schools superintendent Jackie Pons says he is planning to file for re-election in August. He has filled the role since 2006.
Pons says he is looking forward to his next campaign and that he is very proud of the direction LCS has taken under his leadership. According to Pons, graduation rates have increased in the county since he has been Superintendent.
Leon County Commissioner Scott Maddox announced back in April that he will be running for the position as well.
Maddox has been in politics for 20 years and was Tallahassee's youngest commissioner when he was elected in 1993.
