Leon County Students Win Award for Financial Literacy Video

LEON Co., FL -- Four Leon County high school students were recognized by Florida's Chief Financial Officer as winners of the Department of Financial Services' first "Learn to Save" Challenge.

The Department challenged the teens to submit a 30 second public service announcement, highlighting the importance of financial literacy.

Leon County high schoolers George Gwynn, Clayton Hobbs, Curtis Wright and Ellie Stubblefield tied for second place with students from Flagler County.

The video they made was about the economical decisions behind parenting. The video can be viewed here.

Those students won a $200 prize. The contest was open to public, private, and home-schooled students in Florida.
