TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - You can now learn about the inner workings of the the Leon County Sheriff's Office.

It is all part of its upcoming Citizens' academy.

Lt. Grady Jordan stopped by the WTXL studio to tell us more.

The sheriff is there with command staff so you can interact with the sheriff and talk about the strategic plan in the sheriff's office, what we are moving forward and how we are going to fight crime in the next century.

Participants will be able to ride along with a deputy during a tour of duty, tour the detention facilities and courthouse, attend a swat demonstration, and shoot some of the high powered weapons used by deputies.

Registration is now open, for more information on how to get started just go to our website at wtxl.tv.
