TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Leon County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal traffic accident that occurred Thursday night in Tallahassee.

LCSO says that at 9:48 p.m. on the evening of January 30, deputies responded to a traffic crash on Capital Circle, near the intersection of Entrepot Boulevard.

First responders discovered a two-car crash, with one person dead at the scene.  LCSO has identified the victim as 25-year-old Jonathon Michael Dunlap of Tallahassee.  Preliminary autopsy results show Dunlap died from trauma sustained during the crash.

Dunlap was traveling northbound on Capital Circle, when he lost control of the vehicle.  Dunlap's vehicle then crossed over the center line, striking another vehicle, driven by 43-year-old Darren James Ward of Crawfordville.

Ward was transported to Tallahassee Memorial with multiple injuries.  Further details on his condition have not been disclosed at this time.  The Leon County Sheriff's Office investigation is ongoing.
