LEON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - Leon County Schools have tested all of their cites for lead in drinking water.
The district says all schools have extremely low levels of lead and that the water is safe to drink. The district tested two sources at each cite.
Officials are working with an outside company to monitor testing going forward.
The school will flush pipes every Monday to eliminate any stagnant water which could lead to a higher presence of lead.
"This will be ongoing testing. We have never done this before, but we will now have a crew that is going to go in and evaluate our water and also change out water filters, do flushing programs and flushing protocol," said Rocky Hanna, the county's superintendent.
The district has created a website so the community can track the levels of lead in the water at each school.
