Leon County Schools Kicks off Annual Back-To-School Supply Drive

TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - It's the middle of summer break for students, but for Leon County Schools, they're getting ready for the new school year.

The school district is kicking off their annual back-to-school supply drive. The school board is accepting any new school supplies that can be dropped off at any Leon County school.

They're looking for common school supplies, like pencils, pens, folders, and notebooks, as well as items for the classroom, such as tissues and hand sanitizer.

Chris Petley, Communications Manager with Leon County Schools, says they make sure the supplies get to the students who need it first: "The supplies will be picked up and moved to a central location, where teachers will be invited out to make sure the supplies get out to the most needy students in our district."

The supply drive runs through August 21st.
