TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Leon County Schools has announced their five finalists for 2018-2019 Teacher of the Year.
The five finalists are:
- Taraneh Oliver, Deerlake Middle School— middle school mathematics teacher.
- Tamika Brown, John G. Riley Elementary School—fourth grade teacher.
- Marcy Grauer, Killearn Lakes Elementary School—third grade teacher.
- Daniel Johnson, Fairview Middle School – middle school social studies teacher.
- Jeannine Meis, Leon High School—tenth grade world history teacher.
The winner of the 2018-2019 Leon County Teacher of the Year will be surprised at their school Thursday morning.
The finalists were selected by a committee of teachers, administrators, parents and community representatives from among 44 candidates. The next step for the finalists will be an interview process with the selection committee on Wednesday.
