TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - Tallahassee city officials said that all facilities are ready for Leon County students to head back to class tomorrow.
Superintendent Jackie Pons has praised the work of the entire faculty, from the principals to the maintenance workers. He said that they will continue clearing debris and picking up the school grounds until everything is back to normal.
Pons said that the district did have to deal with some generators that failed, causing some of the food to go bad, but he promises that they will be able to feed all students on Wednesday.
"We're very confident that we've got meals in our schools and we'll be ready to provide breakfast and lunch tomorrow to our students, and to meet their needs, so we're ready to go regarding that," said Pons.
Leon County schools said they will ask county commissioners if the days students missed due to the hurricane can be listed as excused rather than make-up days.
