TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Leon County School Board members discussed key issues throughout the district, including construction projects planned for the future.
The board approved a plan to move forward with major renovations for Rickards High School and Fairview Middle School.
Before demolition can begin at Rickards High school it must be approved by the Florida Department of education.
One board member voiced concerns over a new trend popping up in schools, where kids are able to be under the influence of drugs in plain sight.
Dee Dee Rasmussen, LCS board member, District 4, says kids nowadays are doing Juuling, and it looks like a flash drive for your computer and it can contain the nicotine content of an entire pack of cigarettes.
Rasmussen wants teachers and parents to be aware.
