TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Leon County is accepting applications for the county’s five-week long Summer Youth Training Program.
The program, sponsored in partnership with CareerSource Capital Region, is an opportunity for youth to spend the summer working and gaining job experience.
"For our local youth, this employment program is a great way to get a paycheck over the summer and earn firsthand professional experience," said Leon County Commission Chairman Nick Maddox.
Youth can apply for positions across many different county departments from Library Services to Emergency Medical Services, and from Management Information Systems to Parks and Recreation.
All positions are 20 to 25 hours per week and pay $8.25 per hour. Summer employment will run from Monday, June 11, through Friday, July 13.
"By working alongside our paramedics, librarians, and so many other professionals, the youth serve our community, build necessary skills, make long-lasting connections and enrich the lives of our employees," said Leon County Administrator Vincent S. Long.
Interested youth should apply now at www.LeonCountyFL.gov/SummerYouth. The application deadline is Monday, March 26, at 5 p.m.
