TALLAHASSEE FLA (WTXL)-- Celebrate Literacy Week concluded Friday across the state and Mayor Andrew Gillum made one final stop in Tallahassee to meet with students for the celebration.
Gillum visited Canopy Oaks Elementary school this afternoon to read to first graders.
Celebrate Literacy Week is an annual event that promotes literacy throughout the state, by raising awareness in the community about the importance of reading.
The Mayor says he made the Trip to Canopy Oaks, to spread this message to students.
The theme of this year's Celebrate Literacy Week was "Literacy Changes our World," with a focus on all of the ways students can be good citizens in their communities.
