TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)--A weight loss competition, led by former FSU football star and Leon County Chairman Nick Maddox begins.
The weigh-in started Tuesday at Hotel Duval. Chairman Maddox says after watching some old football video of himself, he made a resolution to get back in shape. Now the first 50 men and the first 50 women can sign up to compete in a friendly weight loss challenge for a hundred dollars each. The winner of each group will choose a charity to donate the proceeds.
"As a former athlete I got lazy for a couple of years," said Maddox. "It's more like five years after I stopped playing and some of my joints started to ache a little bit. I have little girls and I want to be around for them a long time.
If you weren't able to sign up for the Lose to Gain Challenge Tuesday you still have a chance to do so until next week at Premier Health and Fitness Center.
