LEON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - Leon County installed its new county commission during a special ceremony Tuesday afternoon.

This comes a day after the City of Tallahassee welcomed former commissioner John Dailey as the new mayor.

Four seats were technically up for grabs, but two of those races went uncontested.

In fact, the only new face to the county commission is Rick Minor, who replaces John Dailey.

Bill Proctor was re-elected a few weeks ago.

Kristin Dozier and Nick Maddox didn't have opponents in their races, so they won them in the August primary.

Rick Minor won his seat outright in the primary after a recount.

On Tuesday, all four were officially welcomed into their positions.

Minor has run for office before and he said he was grateful for the support along the way.

"There are more people than I could possibly thank that have helped me get here and to help me get to this point where I get to work with amazing people here at the dias but also within the entire county government," said Rick Minor, Leon County Commissioner District 3. "Let me tell you, your county government is in good hands with these people. It's an honor, and I'm enthusiastic about working and serving with them."

The new commission unanimously picked Jimbo Jackson as the new chairman and Bryan Desloge as the new vice-chair.
