Leon County Holiday Closures --MLK Day 2013

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- All Leon County offices, libraries and community centers will be closed on Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr., Day. County parks will remain open.

The Main Library reopens Tuesday, Jan. 22 at 10 a.m. All branch libraries open on Tuesday, Jan. 22 at 11 a.m.

The Rural Waste Service Centers will be closed as they are normally closed on Mondays. The Solid Waste Management Facility on Apalachee Parkway and Waste Management Inc., will also be closed. As a result, collection routes will be delayed by one day. For more information, call the Leon County Solid Waste Management Division at 850-606-1800.

Leon County Animal Control will also be closed Monday, Jan. 21; however, in the event of an emergency, service is available by calling the Leon County Sheriff’s Office at 850-922-3300. Leon County Animal Control encourages residents to only use this service in cases of dangerous or aggressive dogs, sick or injured domestic animals, animal cruelty or animal bites. Injured wildlife calls will be forwarded to the St. Francis Wildlife Association at 850-627-4151.
