LEON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - Hundreds showed up to get rid of old junk at Leon County's Hazardous Waste Collection Day.
People brought everything from televisions, to computers, to old paint cans.
Hazardous Waste Manager, Richard Lobinske, says these collections help prevent future disasters.
"We're here to keep these hazardous materials out of land-fills and also reduce the risk of incidents happening in the solid waste management chain, from the possibly to incompatible items catching fire in a garbage truck," said Lobinske.
This was the last hazardous waste collection event until September. However you can still visit the Leon County Hazardous Waste Center on Apalachee Parkway, throughout the year.
