LEON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - Leon County leaders want to make sure you're ready for the next disaster.
They held a preparation workshop Wednesday at the Leon County Public Safety Complex.
The workshop gave people a chance to engage with and learn from public safety experts and leaders in Emergency Management.
"Living in Florida, disasters could happen anytime of the year. Being ready for any disaster is important," said Kevin Peters, Leon County Emergency Management Director. "Tonight's event is an opportunity to not only share information about emergency management and building an emergency management kit, but they get a chance to see how the consolidated dispatch agency works and how they handle those daily emergencies when you call 911."
This workshop is part of Leon County's Citizen Engagement Series.
They'll be hosting events throughout May and June to help you get prepared, especially since hurricane season is coming up.
