Leon County hosted a hazardous waste and electronics event at the Public Works Operations on Saturday, to help make the Capital City more green.
lLeon County helped hundreds of residents discard their hazardous waste and electronics.
They collected everything from aerosol cans and garden chemicals --- to televisions and batteries. "There are people that don't know what to throw away. They throw away batteries, hazardous waste, chemicals in the commode and different things so we're here to sort those things out," said John Feagin, crew chief of the drive.
Last year more than 2 thousand residents dropped off close to 50 tons of hazardous waste and 35 tons of electronic scraps.
