TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - Leon County Commissioners are reaching out to South Carolina governor Nikki Haley, in response to the Confederate Flag debate following last week's shooting at a historically black Charleston church.

On Tuesday night, the Leon County Commission voted to send a letter to Governor Haley, recommending South Carolina officials take down the Confederate Flag at their state capitol.

This, after Commissioner Bill Proctor sent a statement to both county and city commissioners, urging them to tell South Carolina that the flag should not be at its capitol.
