LEON COUNTY, FL (WTXL) - Affordable housing is a topic of concern that has been set to appear on the agenda of Leon County Board of Commission as they prepare to meet Tuesday night.
Many topics were slotted for discussion at the Leon County Commission meeting Tuesday, but the one that dominated most of the conversation was affordable housing.
County Commissioners have now said that they are going to partner with both the city and private sectors to create more affordable housing in the Capital City.
After traveling across the country and visiting affordable housing solutions in Atlanta, New Orleans, and other populous areas, commissioners shared what they learned and how they plan to implement these ideas right here in Leon County.
The City of Tallahassee and the county have plans to hold a workshop next week to discuss the issue further.
