TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) -- A Leon County commissioner is headed to the Midwest U.S. for a 6 day tour that will showcase innovation and entrepreneurship.
Kristin Dozier was one of nearly 50 senior officials invited to participate in the third Americas Competitiveness Exchange on Innovation and Entrepreneurship that involves activities in the states of Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Illinois. The participants are selected from 28 countries and 41 sites across the country and Central American nations as well.
The Exchange will focus on public-private partnerships, investment opportunities, innovation of technologies and much more.
The tour is meant to establish long-term global and regional partnerships and to strengthen innovation and entrepreneurship at home. "In the last three to four years, a lot of us have been focused on the area", said Dozier, "Trying to create resources for entrepreneurs, but also figure out how we can attract businesses that want to work with the technology happening at the Mag Lab or other departments within FAMU and FSU."
Dozier is leaving for the exchange tomorrow, and the tour will begin on Sunday, the 19th, and last until Saturday, the 25th.
