TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Today is National Adoption Day and in honor of the day, an unprecedented number of courts and communities in all 50 states came together to finalize thousands of adoptions of children from foster care and to celebrate all families that adopt, including here in Tallahassee.
The day is a national effort to raise awareness for children in foster care waiting to find permanent, loving families.
The adoptions were finalized this morning and afterwards, Leon County Human Services Center celebrated with the families.'
Chief Judge Jonathan Sjostrom presided over the adoptions Tuesday.
