LEON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - It is the week of seven days of local delights and the Leon County Agriculture Extension will be teaching classes all week in the evenings.

Agents will educate people in sight selection and what vegetables grow best during the planting season.

It's also a step towards reducing ones carbon footprint and eating healthy foods grown locally.

"You can't get more local, than growing in your own backyard. So, that's of course, not thousands of miles that your food would be traveling, if you grow it yourself," said Extension Agent Molly Jameson. "And then, with just supporting our local farmers and our local restaurants, again, you're going to be lowering your carbon footprint and eating healthy, nutritious food."

The seven days of local delights will end on Sunday.
