Leon County Administrator Found Guilty of Trafficking Cocaine

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A former Leon County assistant school superintendent has been sentenced to three years in prison for trafficking in cocaine and possession of paraphernalia.

Paul Byrd, a former Leon County administrator, was sentenced Wednesday to three years in prison. He has also been ordered to pay a $50,515 fine.

He has been found guilty of trafficking in cocaine and possession of paraphernalia.

Byrd was arrested in Franklin County back in 2014 after deputies tried to pull him over for vehicle code violations on the white Chevrolet truck he was driving.

Deputies said that Paul W. Byrd Jr. was found with approximately 31.6 grams of cocaine and 8 different types of controlled prescription medications.
