TALLAHASSEE, Fla. --The Leon County Humane Society (LCHS) is seeking help for Dasher, Dancer, Donner, Vixen, Comet, Cupid and Rudolph.  However, those aren't the names of Santa's reindeer, but a smaller animal--puppies.

Dubbed the "Reindeer puppies", The Humane Society says that the tiny canines were tied up in a plastic grocery bag and tossed in a ditch by the side of the of the road. A good Samaritan rescued the puppies and the Leon County Humane Society decided to take them in.

Dr. Michelle Richardson of Lakewood Animal Hospital says that with proper care and food, the puppies should survive. The breed of the dogs is unknown at this time, due to their young age.

The puppies have placed in LCHS foster homes. They will be cared for and prepared for adoption -- a feat that costs roughly $350 per dog. That figure accounts for vaccinations, spaying and neutering, and veterinarian treatments, among other things.

The LCHS is asking for donations to help with the cost of caring for the puppies. Click here to donate and to find out more information.
