TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Deputies are "Preparing for the Worst."
That was the theme at the Leon County Sheriff's Office workshop Thursday, focusing on how to respond to a terror attack.
The workshop comes on the heels of a shooting that put a U.S. congressman in the hospital Wednesday.
The event Thursday was titled "Could we be next?"
It involved hundreds of emergency response and recovery professionals.
They learned about managing the severity of injuries, information sharing and coordination, and long-term community impacts during and after these types of situations.
Organizers say the workshop focused mainly on two major attacks, the Orlando Pulse Night Club shooting, and San Bernadino.
Speakers from both San Bernadino and Orlando presented at the workshop.
