TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Organizer's for the LeMoyne Chain of Parks Art Festival are already busy preparing for this year's festival coming up in April.
On Thursday they will unveil the featured artist for this year's festival.
WTXL ABC 27's Jada Williams was live Thursday morning at the Chain of Parks.
The LeMoyne Chain of Parks Art Festival allows local Florida artists to put their work on display at a nationally ranked festival.
The festival showcases all forms of art, from pottery, to paintings, to jewelry.
In fact, hundreds of artists apply to be a part of the festival, leaving the team to narrow that pool down to only about a hundred.
Thursday night's benefit will unveil the featured artist and their artwork for the upcoming festival.
The featured artist creates a piece that focuses on the Capital City to be put on the poster.
The festival has been ranked the number one art festival in the country and Thursday night the team will release the rankings for last year.
"Our ranking is based on art sales," said Kelly Dozier, the LeMoyne Chain of Parks Art Festival chair. "So that means that the people who like come to the art festival likes the art enough to buy it. And that's what it's all about. It's about connecting artists with the people and the people having art at home to enjoy everyday."
The festival will be held April 27 and 28 in the Chain of Parks.
