TALLAHASSEE, FL. (WTXL) - For the third year in a row, legislation has been filed at the Florida Capitol that would outlaw what has become known as "Revenge Porn."

Revenge Porn is the intentional online sharing of sexually explicit images without consent of the person in the picture, a practice that is not illegal in Florida.

According to the Florida News Service, State Representative Tom Goodson says, many law enforcement officials have come to him, wanting to pass a bill to address the issue.

Goodson says, most revenge porn files are uploaded to the internet by ex-lovers in an attempt to harass a former partner. Goodson adds that once photos or videos are on the internet, it's nearly impossible to delete them.

Goodson and law enforcement officers both say, that a short-term lapse in good judgment by someone having the explicit photos taken of them should not lead to long-term humiliation.

14 other states have passed revenge porn legislation in the past few years.
