TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)-- Thousands of people ventured to the Donald Tucker Civic Center Mother's Day weekend to unlock some secret levels and beef up their player scores.

The League of Legends wrapped up Sunday. The mid-season invitational pits the winners of each major region's Spring split against each other for one dynamic weekend of competition.

Various vendors provided gamers with memorabilia. And many participants dressed as their favorite video game characters.

One participant said the networking opportunity at the event was a plus, in addition to trying the new games and installments of the "League of Legends."

I live nearby; I've always wanted to go to the League of Legends event. When I heard there was one two hours away from where I live I was super excited to buy the tickets and came out. I'm looking forward to the fans because I can always watch League of Legends at home alone but being able to watch it with a crowd of people that also love the game is going to be incredible," said Rachel Greer.
